This new industrial-inspired coffee table from Troon Woodshop brings two very different materials together in one balanced design.
The top is crafted from spalted maple, with flowing grain, distinctive spalting lines, natural imperfections, and a live edge that preserves the character of the original slab. Every section of the wood tells a different part of the story, making the finished table truly one of a kind.
Below the top, a contemporary straw-bundle-inspired steel base creates movement from every angle. The intersecting black steel members provide a strong architectural contrast to the warmth and organic character of the maple.
The round side table shown alongside it is the coffee table’s sister project. Each piece has its own shape and personality, but their shared spalted maple, sculptural black steel bases, and natural-edge treatment allow them to work beautifully as companion pieces.
